ATM stands for Adobe Type Manager. This control panel makes your Type 1 fonts look sharp and clear at any point size—both on your screen and on paper. ATM lets the Mac display any Postscript font crisply at any size. Suggested font cache for most users is the default of 96KB; those using many fonts can go larger if necessary. Select Preserve Line Spacing, not Character shapes. Do not turn on Font Substitution. ATM 4.0 is troublesome with Desktop Printing; I suggest you use ATM 3.8.2 to provide anti-aliased TrueType and Type 1 fonts otherwise handled by ATM 4.0.
